During the heavy rains in early December, a vital part of Sandlake Road between Pacific City and the small nearby community of Tierra Del Mar collapsed in a landslide.
This road is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route which detours from 101 along an especially majestic and remote part of the Oregon Coast. The route traverses along the rugged coast, and wide sandy beaches showcasing Cape Kiwanda, Cape Lookout, and Cape Meares and has been a staple for Oregon visitors for many years.
What was previously a quick 3 mile trip from Pacific City to Tierra Del Mar, and a 8 mile trip to Sandlake Dunes, it is now over 25 miles via 101 through Cloverdale, Hebo, and Beaver.
Kiwanda Coastal Properties manages several homes on and near the beach in Tierra Del Mar. These homes are still available to reserve and are serviced by our management company. This already serene stretch of beach is assured to be even more private and peaceful. However we want to make sure that guests are aware that is quite a drive to reach any services, gas stations, restaurants or grocery stores. Tillamook is 20 miles away and has all the services you would need.
Check out our list of Tierra del Mar beach vacation homes to take advantage of what will be likely the most peaceful Oregon Coast retreat possible.
